This may go down as the most elusive medium-to-large mammal I'll ever see. Typically giant armadillo sightings only occur at night, and often only in pictures taken by trail cams. We had the incredible fortune of seeing this one during the day, and it posed for photos! This male is likely part of a courting pair, as two members of our group saw a second giant armadillo briefly farther down the trail.
