We were fortunate to watch an ostrich mating ritual play out. The female indicated her interest by fanning her wings, and then the male strode in. During the act, he bobbed his neck side to side rapidly. Also of note: ostriches are one of few birds that actually have a penis used for mating (seen in the last photo of the sequence).
